1986 Vauxhall Nova 1.0 Merit 2-door Hatchback

Up for sale at North Devon Classic Cars is a cracking Vauxhall Nova Merit, in Carmine Red and having covered just 33,000 miles in 40 years! I genuinely think this is as close as you can get to driving a new Nova, 40 years after it rolled off the production line.
 
It is super clean and original, inside and out, as you'd expect for the low mileage. The paint looks all original and has not gone pink or orange. We assume the car has spent stretches in storage, but it has been stored properly. The underside has been coated. 
 
On the road, the Nova is tight as a drum, with no slop in the controls, excellent roadholding (for 13in wheels!) and a willing, revvy 4-pot allied to a smooth gearchange and direct steering. It's a lot of fun and reminiscent of a motoring era sadly lost now. 
 
The Nova has had just the 5 owners in 40 years, has stamps in the service book for its early life and then some invoices and MOT records for more recent times. It will have a full service and PDI before it leaves us to go to its next owner.
 
A rare survivor now, this Nova has not been messed with and will be hard to repeat!
