1987 Ford Escort Style 1.3 Manual 2-Door Hatchback

For sale is a genuine one owner 2 door Ford Escort Style from 1987 - a cracking little car with a lovely back story.
The Escort's one and only owner won it in the 'Spot the Ball' football pools competition in 1987, in which the Escort was 2nd prize! There is the original letter to him in the history confirming his win. He owned and drove it ever since.
The Escort has been off the road in dry storage for the last few years, but has gone through its new MOT with no advisories. The original owners manual and service history is present.
The mileage is 96,000 and the car is in excellent condition - it has clearly been garaged for most if not all of its life. The stickers are original, as is the dealer sticker on the back window. There are some age related marks here and there. It has had 2 new front wings at some point, so they are solid, but the paint match is not 100%.
The original radio is in the car and working. The carb has a manual choke fitted (dealer fit). The original sunroof works and is water tight. 
The Escort starts and drives very nicely indeed, with a sweet 1.3 Kent crossflow engine mated to a 4 speed gearbox that shifts smoothly. It handles neatly with no knocks from the suspension. 
We have a new fuel filler cap to go on the car. There is a rip in the driver's seat cushion, which can be repaired for the asking price. The car will have an oil and filters service before sale.
These are a rare sight these days. This one has clearly been treasured by Donald and now represents an excellent way into classic Ford ownership - but be prepared to be late as everyone wants to talk about it!
