1999 Daimler Super Eight 4.0 V8 Supercharged 4-door Automatic Saloon

North Devon Classic Cars are proud to have for sale an exceptional Daimler Super Eight dating from 1999. Presented in original Emerald Green, with an Ivory pinstripe, over Ivory/Sable leather inside, the Daimler features a Jaguar's own supercharged V8 engine, mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. 
 
All this sits in a long wheelbase version of Jaguar's X308 chassis, measuring some 5 meters in length and providing an extra 12 centimetres of legroom for rear seat passengers. Unique interior trims, featuring wood inlays, ruched leather and tray tables complete the transformation from Jaguar to Daimler.
 
The X308 is a great starting point for a modern classic - stylish, refined, dynamic and different. Add in the extra exclusivity of the Daimler versions and the added practicality and ride quality of the long wheelbase and these cars now seem like a steal. 
 
This particular Super Eight is in excellent condition, having been doted on by its 6 previous keepers over 27 years. There is a massive history file accompanying the car, showing 15 service stamps and myriad invoices for upkeep. There is also evidence of a replacement engine fitted by Jaguar in 2004 at 53k miles under the Nikasil warranty. 
 
There is photographic evidence of repair work done to the body and chassis of the car over recent years, so the car is solid in all the usual places that X308s like to rot. 
 
Being picky, there are some light stone chips to the bonnet and some light bubbling under one of the rear lights, but this will be sorted prior to sale. Otherwise, the paint quality is very good indeed, as is the chrome work around the windows. The alloys are in excellent condition and 4 new tyres will be fitted prior to sale.
 
Inside, the Daimler is everything you'd want - leather & wood everywhere, with small reminders everywhere that this is not just another Jaguar. The front seats were re-conalised in 2021. Everything works as it should, including the heated front and rear seats and the electric rear seats.
